OK, just in case anyone was in doubt, there WILL be a 45th JMHS reunion this year. And although we do apologize for the delay in getting this thing off the ground, I guess what we’re all finding out that just because some of us are “retired,” that doesn’t necessarily mean we have more time on our hands . . . matter of fact, not only do many of us have LESS time now . . . but many of us are still working as well (in spite of our knees, hips, shoulders, etc. giving out)!
Nonetheless, right now we are locking in dates . . . and that’s a major project in and of itself. We have received a commitment from Brookside Country Club to hold our dinner event on Saturday, November 10th. That means that our reunion weekend will be November 9-11, 2012. We know that no matter what dates we choose, someone is not going to be happy. And we will apologize up front for that. But in addition to committee member schedules, weather, and other deterrents, we also have to work around available dates at acceptable venues . . . and that certainly does limit us as well. By the way, this weekend is also Veteran’s Day weekend, so hopefully that will give folks an extra day to get home or to take care of other commitments.
We will be planning a reunion similar to those done in the past with a Friday evening get-together, our “main event” Saturday evening dinner, and probably a Sunday morning good-bye breakfast. We have not locked in any hotels yet, nor do we have further event details ready to share. At this point we just want you to put the dates on your calendar now and plan to be with us.
Needless to say, one of the most important things we need to do right now is to update our contact database to insure that we have current information to keep everyone updated. Please take a moment and send your current phone, email, & snail-mail info to us.
